Problem is, December is usually not where opening weekend records are broken.

Only time it happened was with SW: TFA, a film with 30+ years of demand.

Doomsday doesn't have that. Frankly, it doesn't even have much hype, period.

Couple that with it opening against Dune 3, which has a lot of hype and a lot of PLFs, and the opening weekend is sketchy.

If it is good, it can have long legs. Moviegoers are savvy and see this as a Hail Mary pass, so they won't rush to theaters, but may wait it out.

So I will happily eat crow if I'm wrong, but I just think there's too many headwinds for Doomsday to do what it needs to. Frankly, this feels like an Avatar: Fire and Ice situation.
